Why is the percentage change different in each direction?
Each change is measured against a different starting value. Going from 50 to 75 is up 50%, but going from 75 to 50 is down about 33%.
How is the percentage difference calculated?
It divides the absolute difference between the two values by their average, then multiplies by 100. Using the average means neither value is treated as the starting point.
