    About CSV to Excel

Turn a CSV or TSV into an XLSX workbook that opens ready in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice. A real workbook keeps numbers and dates typed, instead of showing the raw text. It also avoids the wrong delimiter problem, since the data is already split into columns.

How to convert CSV to Excel

    1. Add your CSV or TSV file.
    2. Check the Convert to option.
    3. Press convert and download the Excel workbook.

    Frequently asked questions

Why is the XLSX better than CSV?

XLSX supports several sheets, formatting and typed cells. CSV is plain text, so Excel may guess columns, dates and encoding wrongly.

Will my dates and numbers keep their format?

Values are read from the text, so check dates and long numbers in the result. Codes with leading zeros are best checked first, since they can be read as numbers.

What if my CSV uses a semicolon?

If the data lands in one column, change the delimiter first with the CSV delimiter converter, then convert. That makes each field its own cell.

    Is CSV to Excel free?

Yes. CSV to Excel on Toolipedia is free to use, with no sign-up and no watermark.

    Is it safe to use?

Yes. Your files travel over an encrypted connection, are processed automatically, and are deleted as soon as the result is ready. Nobody looks at them.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on Android and iPhone, as well as on tablets and computers. There's nothing to install.

How big can my files be?

Up to 200 MB in total. You can add several files at once.

    Do I need an account?

No. Just open the page and use the tool. There's no sign-up and no email needed.
