About Collate scanned pages (front and back)

Scanners with no duplex feature often produce two files: one with all fronts and one with all backs. This tool interleaves them into the right order, page 1 front, page 1 back, and so on. If the backs came out reversed, use the reverse option.

How to use Collate scanned pages (front and back)

  1. Add the PDF with the front pages.
  2. Add the PDF with the back pages.
  3. Merge them and download one PDF in the right order.

Frequently asked questions

My back pages are in the wrong order. What now?

When you flip the stack to scan the backs, they usually come out in reverse. Turn on the reverse order option for the backs file and collate again.

When should I reverse the back pages?

If you scanned the back sides by feeding the stack in reverse, the backs are in reverse order. Turn on the reverse option so they interleave correctly.

What if the number of front and back pages differs?

Blank backs may have been skipped while scanning. Add the missing blank pages, or merge in parts, so the pages line up with their fronts.
