About What is my screen resolution?

See your screen's resolution in pixels, the device pixel ratio, the current browser window size, refresh rate and pixel density. A 1920 by 1080 display with a ratio of 2 renders crisp text like a much sharper panel, so these numbers explain why sites look the way they do.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my resolution differ from my screen's spec?

Operating system scaling reports a smaller logical size. A 4K screen at 200 percent scaling shows as 1920 by 1080 with a pixel ratio of 2, while the physical panel is unchanged.

What is the device pixel ratio?

It is the number of physical pixels used for each CSS pixel. A ratio of 2 means a sharp high-density screen that draws twice as many pixels per unit as a standard one.

Why is the window size smaller than my resolution?

The window size is only the visible browser area. Toolbars, taskbars, side panels and zoom all reduce it, so it is normally smaller than your full screen resolution.
