About PDF poster printing

Takes a single PDF page and splits it into a grid of tiles, each sized to a normal sheet, so you can print a poster on an ordinary printer. Tape the sheets together to get the full image. Overlap margins help you line up the edges and trim cleanly.

How to use PDF poster printing

  1. Open your PDF and pick the page you want as a poster.
  2. Choose how many sheets wide and tall the poster should be.
  3. Create the tiled PDF and print each sheet at full size.

Frequently asked questions

How do I join the printed tiles neatly?

Trim the white margin on two sides of each sheet, using the overlap area as a guide, then align the printed edges and tape the back. Work row by row.

What print scale should I use?

Print at 100 percent, also called actual size, and turn off fit to page. Any scaling in the print dialog shrinks the tiles and the poster will not line up or reach the size you picked.

How many sheets do I need for a large poster?

Multiply the number across by the number down. A 2 by 3 layout uses 6 sheets. More sheets mean a bigger poster, but the picture also needs enough resolution to stay sharp when enlarged.
