About EXIF viewer

Open a photo to see its hidden metadata: camera model, lens, exposure, ISO, date taken and, when present, GPS coordinates. Photos from phones often carry location, so check before sharing online. Many social sites strip EXIF, but not all of them do.

How to use EXIF viewer

  1. Open a photo from your device.
  2. Read the camera, settings and date details shown.
  3. Check the GPS section to see whether a location is stored.

Frequently asked questions

Does my photo contain my location?

It can. Phone photos often store GPS coordinates in EXIF unless location is switched off in the camera settings. Open the photo here to check.

How do I remove location data from a photo?

Many phones let you turn off location tagging in camera settings, and some share menus remove it. After that, check the new file here to confirm the GPS data is gone.

What do aperture and ISO tell me?

Aperture shows how wide the lens opened and ISO shows the sensor's light sensitivity. Together with shutter speed, they explain how bright or grainy the photo is.
